Ugandans Khalid Aucho and Ismeal Watenga helped their respective teams of Young Africans and Marumo Gallants to reach Semifinals of CAF Confederation cup.
Tanzanian giants Young Africans where Aucho plays from eliminated Nigeria’s side Rivers United 2-0 on aggregate to reach their first ever Semifinals.
On the other side, South Africa’s giants Marumo Gallants where Watenga plays from needed a late drama in South Africa to eliminate Egyptian side Pyramids on aggregate 2-1.
The first leg in Cairo had ended 1-1 and so their 1-0 win (Marumo Gallants) in South Africa was very crucial in their progress.
Both teams Young Africans and Marumo Gallants will face each other in One of the Semifinal fixture.
Other teams that progressed through to Semifinals were ASEC Mimosas from Ivory Coast and US Alger from Algeria.
ASEC Mimosas eliminated Tunisian giants US Monastir on aggregate 2-1 while US Alger eliminated Morocco’s AS FAR 4-3 on aggregate.
Both teams ASEC Mimosas and US Alger will face off each other in the other Semifinals fixture.
The first leg of the semifinals will be played on May 10th while the second round will be played a week later.
